15 Fleshly Sins That May Keep You Out Of Heaven!

Galatians 5:16-21 (NLT) says “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants.
And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.
When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these.
Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.”
15 FLESHLY SINS AND THEIR MEANING.
1. Sexual Immorality – the “selling off” of sexual purity and involves any type of sexual expression outside the boundaries of a bible defined marriage relationship. (Includes: adultery, fornication, premarital sex, homosexuality, transgenderism, beastiality, incest, pedophilia and prostitution.)
Colossians 3:5 (NLT) says “So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.”
2. Impurity – something that is impure or makes something else impure.
Ephesians 5:3 (NLT) says “Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people.”
3. Lustful Pleasures – full of or motivated by lust, greed, or the like.
Galatians 5:19 (NLT) says “When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures,”
4. Idolatry – the worship of a physical object as a god or immoderate attachment or devotion to something. (Example: Man made Statue of Buddha.)
Revelation 21:27 (NLT) says “Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty—but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”
5. Sorcery – the use of power gained from the assistance or control of evil spirits especially for divining.
Deuteronomy 18:10 (NLT) says “For example, never sacrifice your son or daughter as a burnt offering. And do not let your people practice fortune-telling, or use sorcery, or interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft,”
6. Hostility – deep-seated usually mutual ill will or conflict, opposition, or resistance in thought or principle.
Ephesians 2:16 (NLT) says “Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of His death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.”
7. Quarreling – to express different opinions about something often angrily.
Romans 13:13 (NLT) says “Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.”
8. Jealousy – a jealous disposition, attitude, or feeling.
1 Timothy 6:4 (NLT) says “Anyone who teaches something different is arrogant and lacks understanding. Such a person has an unhealthy desire to quibble over the meaning of words. This stirs up arguments ending in jealousy, division, slander, and evil suspicions.”
9. Outbursts Of Anger – a violent expression of feeling.
Ephesians 4:26 (NLT) says “And don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,”
10. Selfish Ambition – concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself : seeking or concentrating on one’s own advantage, pleasure, or well-being without regard for others.

11. Dissension – partisan and contentious quarreling.
Proverbs 10:12 (NLT) says “Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.”
12. Division – the act or process of dividing : the state of being divided.
Romans 16:17 (NLT) says “And now I make one more appeal, my dear brothers and sisters. Watch out for people who cause divisions and upset people’s faith by teaching things contrary to what you have been taught. Stay away from them.”
13. Envy – A feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another.
Titus 3:3 (NLT) says “Once we, too, were foolish and disobedient. We were misled and became slaves to many lusts and pleasures. Our lives were full of evil and envy, and we hated each other.”
14. Drunkenness – habitual intoxication; prolonged and excessive intake of alcoholic drinks leading to a breakdown in health and an addiction to alcohol such that abrupt deprivation leads to severe withdrawal symptoms.
Luke 21:34 (NLT) says “Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware,”
15. Wild Parties – characterized by extreme lack of restraint or control, often involving loud noise, excessive drinking, and unrestrained behavior.
Romans 13:13 (NLT) says “Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy.”
