12 Christmas Prayers

NOTE: This post was previously published in saviorconnect.com. We are republishing it on our website including Bible Verses and image with permission by HisWinterRose of Community Prayer Wall in saviorconnect.com.

1. FAITH

Father God, thank You for your grace, that through faith we can receive the true gift of Christmas – our salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) says “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”

2. HOPE

Lord may You fill me with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, I may abound in Hope.

Romans 15:13 (NIV) says “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

3. LOVE

I thank You for Your love – the first love – that You gave Your life for me.

1 john 4:19 (NIV) says “We love because He first loved us.”

4. FORGIVENESS

Thank You for being faithful and just in forgiving my sins and therefore cleansing me from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9 (NIV) says “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

5. MERCY

I thank You that I can be merciful to those in my life, for You had mercy on me.

Luke 6:36 (NIV) says “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

6. KINDNESS

Father, I thank You that I can walk in kindness and compassion towards everyone in my life, forgiving everyone just as You have forgiven me.

Ephesians 4:32 (NIV) says “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

7. GENEROSITY

Lord let me be enriched and generous in every way for Your glory and praise!

2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV) says “You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.”

8. COMPASSION

I pray that my family will live in harmony by being sympathetic, compassionate, humble and walking in love with one another.

1 Peter 3:8 (NIV) says “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.”

9. JOY

Father fill me with Your joy in hope, patience through affliction and faithfulness in prayer.

Romans 12:12 (NIV) says “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

10. SALVATION

Thank You for providing Jesus who is the way, the truth, the life, and my way to You.

John 14:6 (NIV) says “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.“”

11. OBEDIENCE

Lord help me to not merely listen to Your Word, but to follow and apply it to my life.

James 1:22-25 (NIV) says “Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the Word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.”

12. LIFE

And Jesus, thank You for coming that I may have life, and that that life may be abundant and full.

John 10:10 (NIV) says “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
