Bible Food For Thought

NOTE:

This is the third in a series of Guest Posts used with permission from Pastor Jerry Johnson of Beacon Of Light Christian Center Church in Overland Park, Kansas.

21. TACT IS THE ART OF MAKING A POINT WITHOUT MAKING AN ENEMY.

Proverbs 12:18 (NIV) says:
“The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

22. BE CAREFUL OF YOUR THOUGHTS. THEY MAY BECOME WORDS AT ANY MOMENT.

Proverbs 16:23 (NIV) says:
“The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent, and their lips promote instruction.”

23. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THAT MAN TO DESPAIR WHO REMEMBERS THAT HIS HELPER IS OMNIPOTENT.

Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV) says:
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”

Psalm 121:7 (NIV) says:
“The Lord will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life.”

24. ANYONE CAN HOLD THE HELM WHEN THE SEA IS CALM.

Proverbs 24:10 (NIV) says:
“If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength!”

25. A BLIND MAN WHO SEES IS BETTER THAN A SEEING MAN WHO IS BLIND.

Matthew 13:16 (NIV) says:
“But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.”

26. IF THE ROOTS ARE DEEP AND STRONG, THE TREE NEEDN’T WORRY ABOUT THE ELEMENTS.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV) says:
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

27. CHARACTER IS MUCH EASIER KEPT THAN RECOVERED.

1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV) says:
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

28. FAULTS ARE THICK WHERE LOVE IS THIN.

1 Peter 4:8 (NIV) says:
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

29. HINDSIGHT EXPLAINS THE INJURY THAT FORESIGHT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED.

Proverbs 4:6 (NIV) says:
“Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.”

Proverbs 4:12 (NIV) says:
“When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.”

30. PERSONALITY HAS THE POWER TO OPEN DOORS, BUT CHARACTER KEEPS THEM OPEN.

Proverbs 10:30 (NIV) says:
“The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land.”
