Jesus Came To Save The Lost!
The Prodigal Son
The story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:12-24 vividly illustrates God’s love and forgiveness.
The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them.
Not long after that, the younger son gathered all he had and set off for a distant country, where he squandered his wealth in wild living. After he had spent everything, a severe famine struck the country, and he began to be in need.
So he hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
Coming to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving! I will go back to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.”’ So he got up and went to his father.
While he was still a long way off, his father saw him, filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.
The son said, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
But the father told his servants, ‘Bring the best robe, put it on him, place a ring on his finger, and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf, let’s feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
Are You Lost?
If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior and made Him Lord of your life, you may feel spiritually lost. But there is hope: Jesus, like the father in the story, waits with open arms. He offers forgiveness for all your sins and extends the Free Gift of Salvation.
You Can Be Saved!
Romans 10:9-10 says,
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
No sin is too great for God to forgive! Regardless of your past, you can choose Heaven as your eternal home. Today can be the day of your salvation.
A Prayer of Salvation
If you’re ready to accept God’s gift of forgiveness, pray this prayer sincerely:
“Jesus, I just read that no sin is too great for You to forgive. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. I’ve read that if I call on Your name, You will save me. I’m calling on You now, asking You to save me. Come into my heart, give me a new life, and help me live for You. Thank You for dying for me, and for forgiving and saving me. Amen.”
