How To Avoid The Seven Woes That Guarantee God's Anger! ( Part 1 )

John 3:36 says:
“Whoever believes in the Son (Jesus) has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son (Jesus) will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”

The above scripture verse says that God’s anger (wrath) does not apply to those who have accepted God’s Free Gift of Salvation (Jesus). But, for those who reject His Free Gift (Jesus), God’s anger (wrath) still applies.

Choosing Jesus leads to eternal life in Heaven. Rejecting Jesus is a fatal decision that leads to death, and the following still applies.

THE SEVEN WOES

In Matthew 23:13-36, Jesus mentioned seven actions that guarantee God’s anger. His seven statements about the religious leaders were very strong and unforgettable. They are commonly called the “seven woes”.

Woe #1
In Matthew 23:13, Jesus says:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.”

Woe #1: Not entering the kingdom of heaven yourself and making salvation hard for other people.

Woe #2
In Matthew 23:15, Jesus says:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.”

Woe #2: Causing converts to walk away from God and to adopt a different religion so they can be like you.

Woe #3
In Matthew 23:16-22, Jesus says:
“Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gold of the temple is bound by that oath.’ You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?

You also say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but anyone who swears by the gift on the altar is bound by that oath.’ You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes the gift sacred? Therefore, anyone who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.

And anyone who swears by the temple swears by it and by the one who dwells in it. And anyone who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the one who sits on it.”

Woe #3: Trivializing religion and requiring others who belong to God to follow man-made traditions instead of God’s Word.
