The Rubik’s Cube of Life.

The Rubik's Cube of Life.

Guest Post: Embracing the Rubik’s Cube of Life

By Denise Rezsonya

I hesitated to write and publish this post. Sharing personal struggles isn’t easy, but I realized that to truly help others, I need to open up. So here’s my story.

Life as a Rubik’s Cube

I’ve come to see myself as a Rubik’s cube—complex, colorful, and often scrambled. Some days, I manage to solve one side, like the white, only to find the other sides in disarray. It’s frustrating yet relatable, isn’t it?

For those who’ve mastered solving the cube, bravo! But for the rest of us figuring out one or two sides at a time, this is for you.

A Divine Surprise

Recently, I experienced what I can only describe as God’s version of an April Fools’ joke. Feeling led by the Spirit, I visited a local abuse advocacy group to explore speaking opportunities. What I didn’t realize was that God had a different plan.

As I spoke with a kind woman there, I realized the visit wasn’t just about helping others—it was about addressing my own unresolved trauma.

The Puzzle of My Life

From the outside, my life looks good:

  • The Yellow Side: A great husband, two wonderful kids, and a lovely home.
  • The Blue Side: A commitment to health and fitness.
  • The Red Side: Regular church attendance and daily prayer.

But other sides of my life remain a jumbled mess. I’ve avoided dealing with my past, convincing myself I was “okay.” God knew otherwise.

Now, I’m taking the first steps to truly address these issues, starting with meeting an advocate.

Facing the Messy Sides

Admitting the need for help is hard, and sharing it publicly is even harder. But I’m committed to walking this journey authentically, sharing both the good and the messy parts.

Finding Strength in Faith

Here’s what God says to us during these times:

  • Strength: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”Philippians 4:13
  • Healing: “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”Psalm 34:18
  • Hope: “Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost!”Luke 15:6

These promises give me peace and hope as I move forward.

What About Your Rubik’s Cube?

Is there a side of your life that needs attention? Maybe it’s time to pick it up, twist the pieces, and start solving.

If I can do it, so can you! Let’s take these steps together. I’m here to support you if you need it.

A Request for Prayer

If you can, please pray for me as I navigate this season of healing and discovery. It’s a daunting process, but I’m grateful for God’s guidance and the support of this community.

Be blessed and be a blessing!
