America’s Urgent Need for Evangelism

In past years, countless individuals left the United States to journey around the globe, spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people in distant lands. While some still continue this mission abroad, America has now itself become a mission field in desperate need of spiritual renewal.

A nation founded on Biblical principles—though not without flaws—America once drew much of its identity from Scripture. Today, however, it often seems committed to erasing the beliefs of its founders. Prayer has been removed from schools, the Bible excluded from classrooms, leaving an educational system struggling with a moral void where atheistic teachings now prevail.

The effects of this shift are visible across society. Entertainment glorifies lust and perversion, encouraging men to abandon families in pursuit of pleasure, and leaving young women vulnerable to exploitation. Violence and destruction are often idolized, leading some to imitate these acts in real life, with devastating consequences.

Meanwhile, greed is draining the nation economically, as warned in Matthew 12:24: “because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” Financial schemes leave many robbed of their hard-earned livelihoods. False prophets, catering to what 2 Timothy 4:3 describes as “itching ears,” spread a gospel of prosperity over truth, seeking wealth and fame instead of sincere faith.

But there is hope. If believers would unite in prayer, seeking God across denominational lines, we could begin to dispel the darkness engulfing our nation. Voting is important, but it is only God who can truly transform a nation. Unfortunately, too many leaders make decisions without regard for what pleases Him.

As thousands pass away each day without knowing Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and with thousands of churches closing annually, the need for evangelism within America has never been greater. The fields are indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few.

Now is the time for individuals who will seek God’s guidance to reach out and share the Gospel with fellow citizens. America needs these laborers more than ever.
